Blog number 2 .

I was pretty excited to do this assignment for the blog. I wanted to actually watch a show so I can see all the science that is interpreted in the show that I’ve never noticed. That being said I decided to watch the show Numb3rs, a show I never watched before. I watched the first episode on Netflix. To be honest I was expecting this show to be a little boring, since I knew it was going to be all about math. But this man is a genius! Okay before I get to all the science let me explain what happen in this episode. This man works in the FBI , They are trying to track a rapists who is going around rapping women , and murdering them . They needed some help because it was becoming a hassle trying to figure out who is this guy that is raping these women . This man gets home and Charlie ( the math genius ) who is his brother , see that he is stressed . Look through a map he had that the FBI use to track down victims , and decided to help him track down this man by using math !

So all types of science was use in this show .One guy was talking about him having a theory; A dimensional super gravity theory.  Charlie also spoke on helping the shape of high performance automobiles for the next generation.

Charlie decided to help his brother by using numbers and math to find out the precise location this man is at , “Everything is numbers”  he compared that situation to the sprinklers outside his house . Every time a drop hits the floor it would never be on the exact same spot, but we can find out the precise location the drop falls in , which will always be close to the last drop . Same thing we can do for the murderer. Right here he made a theory. He made an equation that revels the probability where the rapists is found , which was the “hot zone” . In the hot zone the workers tracked down all the men’s files , and also collected little clues like gum to match DNA . They ended up finding the man with the help of numbers and science! 

While the show was going on the music was so intense and the way the camera would zoom in to faces and switch to the other rapidly . I would definitely say that everyone is in "aw" with science . Even the FBI was surprise this charlie kid can solve a crime by using math , another type of science .

Hello My name is Natalie Suriel . I am currently a Liberal Arts major . I started as an undecided student when it came to a major and career goal , so that's the reason i took Liberal Arts . As of now my mind is set on being a Psychology major when i begin in Brooklyn college on September 2012 . Im still not sure on what field in psychology i want to take in .
 
When the questions " Am i a science or Humanities person , or both ? " is asked to me , i believe it is normal for me to be fairly confused , for the fact that i went from being a Liberal Arts major to being a Psychology major . Psychology is said to fall under Humanities . So i am a Humanities person . But we can say that Psychology also deals with science . In psychology a bunch of biological factors are used , even the scientific method is used to determine certain theories within patients to be true .

I have experience with my major and career goal by taking classes and also some situations at home . I am really good when it comes to analyzing and talking to people , I've been this way before i started taking classes in college . I am also really good when it comes to listening and giving people advice , that's what push me into being a psychology major . Those qualities fall under Humanities , the understanding of enlightenment to a person  there's no need to no science for that , well in today's world with out science no one will believe it to be certain .

In my opinion people a pretty positive when it comes to science , well the majority . Yes alot of people need proof and a feeling of certainty when it comes to believing a situation . Thats a great thing to fall under . But also in today's world a lot of people are influenced socially . For example if 10 people tells you its gonna snow in the middle of June , and 2 people are saying thats impossible . What would you you believe ? That its going to snow of course . We need to learn how to do smart research on EVERYTHING that is put in front of us . That is what people are failing to do now and days . Lets use the scientific method among us and our mind , lets mix science and humanities . With the mixture of wisdom of one self and science the world would be pretty perfect .
